Java Developer – Winchester

We're looking for an experienced Java Developer who has Tomcat experience.

Job responsibilities

• The role is for a Java developer in a small team building and supporting a completely new Corporate Actions system. As a member of the team you will be developing and supporting Corporate Actions, handling components including feed processing and delivery, and a web-based GUI.

Essential criteria

• At least two years' concurrent programming experience in Java, Apache Tomcat, Spring and JavaScript
• One year+ Oracle (with JDBC)
• Demonstrable experience with real-time programming/real-time data distribution
• Demonstrable experience developing high performance/low latency, resilient server applications
• Knowledge and experience in developing distributed transactional server applications

Desirable criteria

• OSGi experience
• Eclipse IDE, Clover, Terracotta DSO, Java testing tools (Fitnesse/Mockito), Unix shell scripting experience, System administration skills, PL/SQL
• Experience of, or interest in, financial markets and equities
• AGILE with SCRUM methodology

We are happy to consider a range of candidates, varying from a graduate with a couple of years' development experience, to a more experienced Java developer who wishes to try something new and exciting. Financial experience would be a bonus, but not essential.
